The Funny Side: Barcelona's Season in Review

The current Barcelona Outfit has been expressed by many fans as one of the best teams in the modern game if not one of the best teams in history. However it is clear this is a season to forget. While their has been independent success with Messi eclipsing the season goal scoring record of 43 goals and securing Ballon d'Or once again. As a whole the Barcelona team has been quite dissapointing bowing out of the Champions League in the semi-final (any team would be proud of such an achievement, which just goes to show the success of Barca) and also coming runner up in the La Liga to fierce Rivals Real Madrid. As\nd thus we provide a humorous review of Barcelona season this year with some funny memes.

BIggest Week in EPL 2012

TOTTENHAM, TORRES AND THE MANCHESTER DERBY

Hi football fans this week was a huge week  in the English Premier League with many crucial games as times fight against relegation and others fight for Champions League and Premiership Glory. Today we will be focusing on three major games: Tottenham vs Balckburn, Chelsea vs QPR and the Manchester Derby: Manchester United vs Manchester Ctiy.

Tottenham v Blackburn (2-0 Tottenhma Win)
This was a huge game with both teams desperate for a win for two different reasons. Tottenham was eager to end its dissapointing form slump and jump back into champions league contention while Blackburn was eager to win back to back matches and edge out of the relegation zone. however the game told a different story. It was clear that Tottenham were more desperate than Blackburn in front of a home crowd they dominated the game with over 60% possession and while the score was 2-0 they should have at least put 5 or six past blackburn with the post and side net being hit 5 times. Goals from Van Der vaart and a class free kick from Walker sealed the game for the spurs to keep them in the hunt. The Surprise however was how blackburn coach acted, for a desperate side blackburn lacked attacking options and the formation wasnt changed til it was too late. Blackburn had not one shot on goal, the first time a professional team hasnt had a shot since 2004.

Chelsea v QPR (6-1 Chelsea Win)
Torres, Hat Trick and Chelsea are not usually words you hear in the same sentence, however this was the case when chelsea came up against QPR on the weekend. Chelsea who were buoyed by their champion League semi-final win against Barcelona the previous week netted six goals past QPR who had beaten Tottenham in the previous week. Fernando Torres shined with three goals and three class finishes. Torres who has gained alot of confidence in recent weeks following some good performances has finally shown why he was worth over 50milion dollars and now it seem the joke is on Liverpool management and fans who let Torres go and now sit outside the top 6.

Manchester United v Manchester United (1-0 City Win)
Anticipated as one of the biggest games in English Premier League History, it was highlighted by many footballing experts that the winner of this game would be the winner of the English Premiership title. Before the game United were up by three points on the table however City had the higher goal difference and a win by City would mean City would Leapfrog United to the top. The game had an intnese atmosphere with over 60000 fans attending. Vincent Kompany headed a goal in first time with a header to put City in front. however the game was notable for the controversy on the sideline with United COach Sir Alex Fergusen accusing City coach Roberto Mancini if badgering the referee. the score remained the same ome 90 minutes and City Takes home the three points. While City is set to take the Premiership Trophy for the first time in over 30 years it needs to be weary of Newcastle United who is clearly a threat especially as newcastle pushes for a Champions League position. It is clear that the winner of the Premier League this year must win both games, exciting times Ahead!!!

By the Way Go SPURS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Worlds 2 best players

Lionel Messi (FC Barcelona)

Now with two Ballon d'Or awards to his name (2009 and 2010), Messi is officially the best player in the world. This modest Argentinian has speed, dribbling and shooting skills. But despite so many individual virtues, he is also a remarkable team player. And I thought you need to show a beautiful Messi video when your talking about him:

 Cristiano Ronaldo (Real Madrid)

Ronaldo has been hailed in Madrid as one of the great players of all time. His strength, speed, height and intelligence has helped him becoming the superstar he is today. The sheer presents of him on the field can send teams into panic and with his amazing goal scoring record so they should. He is a deadly shooter from all parts on the field and had scored countless 'dead ball' goals. Even through he plays for Real Madrid, FC Barcelona's biggest rivals, we all still admired for his footballing contribution and excitement he brings.

New Record

On Saturday, April 14, 2012, Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi yet again made history.
Both players broke La Liga's record for most goals in a single season. It is only fitting that these two superstars further build their legacies on the same day.

The pair of superstars broke Ronaldo's own record of 40 goals, set just last year. The previous record was 38 goals. That record was shared by Athletic Bilbao legend Telmo Zarra (1950-51) and Madrid's own Hugo Sanchez (1989-90). This is such an impressive feature of these 2 great players

Joseph Guardiola Leaves FC Barcelona

Its official Joseph  Guardiola the head coach of FC Barcelona is leaving on the 30th of June this year. It was been an emotional time for the footballing community world wide seeing the success and legacy of this man over the last four seasons. The structure and style adopted by Guardiloa has brought creativity and excitement to the beautiful game and I myself have studied hundreds of his games.

The repositioning of my all time favorite player Lionel Messi was amazing and clever. This strategy, is now commonly known as the 'false nine', moving the 24-year-old into a deep central striking role and allowing him licence to confuse and trick midfielders and defenders, has unleashed a torrent of goals rarely seen in football history.

Also the risk, and thrill, of consistently playing three at the back in order to produce superiority of numbers in midfield and, thus, more scoring chances, and recently his choice of regularly using four forwards, will be a long lasting memory for some football romantics.

The reason for his departure was because as he said:

"These past four years have emptied my reservoirs and now I need to fill them again," said Guardiola in a press conference attended by both journalists and some of his leading players. "That is the fundamental reason that I have announced my era here has finished. A coach needs to have passion and energy with which to infuse his players so that they can approach matches full of enthusiasm.
"This is what I need to recover and I will only get that back by resting. I am truly satisfied with what we have achieved and above all by the way we have achieved it. I would like to thank my players for the privilege it has been to coach them and for helping me to enjoy this job. They made me very happy game after game.

What is Happening with Tottenham?

What is Going on with Tottenham?
At the Start of the English Premier League Title Tottenham Hotspur were unbeatable, they were pushing for their first title in over fifty years and were comfortably set to make it into the Champions League. Come Easter a different story has emerged. Tottenham has now won one game from nine and sitting in ffth struggling for wins and now looking quite unlikely to make the Champions League. It dropped out of the FA Cup semi-finals with a 5-1 loss and has loss to two sides who are in the bottom half of the table. It leads us and fans to wonder what is happening with Tottenham Hotspur???

I think our team is disintegrating but not because of Harry Redknapp, or not solely because of him. The team have lost their spirit because things are happening in it that have nothing to do with the England situation. Some of the players expect to be treated differently, expect to be special, and that never bodes well. The razzle dazzle of the first 3/4 of the season has disappeared. We don't press, and suprisingly have become a team that is very light weight on the ball, too genteel, easily brushed off - non-committal in the tackle. Today barring Walker Lennon and Bale almost everyone seemed to be pulling their legs back, whereas Norwich were sticking theirs in. A worrying sign of a lack of belief. I think Modric will want out again, and this time he needs to be sold quickly. Yes haggle for the best price, but get it over with early, do our business early, if need be get a new manager early and just focus on pre-season after the Euros.

The team hs been under immense pressure in coming weaks with talks of summer signings such as Luka Modircs re-interest into Chelsea and Champion side Barcelona are after the Welsh International Gareth Bale. It seems players are unmotivated and have their minds on otherthings.  Furthermore the speculation of whether Harry Redknapp will continue to coach Tottenham or take the England Job is also a hot topic in football circles and amongst the team. while it seems the players will bleed for their team it does seem that morale is dwindling along with no team motivation. It is up to Harry to build character back in the side and buildconfidenceback up. The Tottenham team is not down and out and are only 3 points behind the top four and six points out of the top three. solid victories in the last few matches should cement our spot in the Champions League and the estimated 40 million Euros should also help Tottenham buy layers and build a strong force for the future years. Our support remains with the Tottenham players and we know that thy will shine and push through. COYS

The funny side

Ok... sorry for not posting recently but I think we are finally getting grips with reality after the upsetting loss of Barcelona to Real Madrid in the all time great match rivalries 'The El Classico'.
So I thought what better way to lighten the mood then with some humorous images of how the game unfolded, hope you enjoy :)

Real Madrid where in need so some serious prayers coming into this El Classico match seeing how they have been able to beat Barcelona in the last 12 of these games!

The First half score was a shock to everyone because everyone went into this game expecting Barca to win or at least draw, so nerves were up at half time

Tempers were up while the worlds best team were losing and the best player in the world (Leo Messi) was having a scoreless game. Some people say that Messi wouldn't be as good if he didn't have the help of Xavi and Inesta on his team.

With such great pressure on Real Madrid to finally win there first 'El Classico', all was settled when Ronaldo was able to make that decisive moment and scored their second goal in Barca's home stadium... everyone knew it was now over :(

Poor Fabregas finally thought he might be able to win the La Liga with Barca, but now Real Madrid are 7 points clear, this is impossible.

A  continuing debate over the past few years is why Barcelona win so many of their big games is because they have been paying the ref
